The sixth MML workshop is coming up: Transforming Food Systems through Sustainable Business Models

In a time when the global food system is under intense scrutiny for its impact on the environment, society, and health, a transformative workshop is being organized to tackle the root of these issues: the internalization of externalities in the food industry. This Mobilization & Mutual Learning workshop, titled “Transforming Food Systems: Addressing Business Models and Lock-ins for the Internalization of Externalities”, will take place on October 29th, 2024, online and will bring together leading experts, researchers, and industry professionals to engage in mutual learning and collaboration.

Hosted as part of the FOODCoST project, this two-hour session aims to uncover sustainable business practices that can lead the food sector towards more responsible and future-ready solutions. The focus is on how agri-food businesses can move beyond short-term profits to embrace long-term sustainability by accounting for their environmental and social impacts—commonly known as “externalities”—which are often overlooked in traditional market pricing.
